Welcome to Nourish Lactation, located in Bend, Oregon. My name is Brooke, I am a Board Certified Lactation Consultant offering Lactation Consultations and Prenatal Breastfeeding Classes for families as well as professional support through classes and meetings for those that want to learn more about breastfeeding medicine, research and lactation consulting.

Read through each page to learn more about these services, my education and training and what makes lactation appointments with me different!

Lactation Consultations. These appointments are currently scheduled at Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) only and take place in the Northwest Crossing clinic at 760 NW York Drive, Bend, Oregon. We will spend a full hour discussing your health history, current concerns and creating a practical, sustainable plan together that supports your goal and works through the difficulties you are facing. Appointments can be made from conception to weaning and you are welcome to bring yourself and your baby or your support people with you! You do not need to be established with COPA to schedule a lactation appointment.

Breastfeeding Classes. Nourish Lactation has paired with Dakota Dawson, Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator as well as Laura Flood, Physical Therapist (two amazing women from our community!) to facilitate a five-part prenatal workshop that is interactive and engaging for both moms and their partners. From labor positions to breastfeeding education and what to expect in the early days of parenthood this series is comprehensive and fun! Some topics we will cover: (this list is not exhaustive, we will pack in as much as we can in two hours!)

  • What to expect in the first days

  • How to know if your baby is getting enough milk

  • Signs that everything is going well

  • How to know when things are not going well

  • Positioning your baby to avoid soreness

  • When to call a lactation consultant

Learn more about me and my journey to this place as a student, lactation consultant, and mother.  There’s lots more to the story but the gist is this: I love coffee and learning, I have a supportive partner that is calm and helps hold down the fort while I live my high-energy-forever-student dreams at conferences and workshops and I have two awesome kids that keep me loving this trek through the parenthood wilderness. They are cute, too! So they are here to stay. My education started in Human Development and has led me to Human Lactation and Breastfeeding Medicine.

I love to lament about missing the rain so if you are from the valley and you need a partner to discuss the drizzly skies and green grass of yesteryear—let me know! I am ready for you.

“Brooke made it possible to breastfeed my daughter. I always tell people that Brooke is a head above the rest — like she has a PhD in helping women feed their babies — her depth of knowledge and her commitment to continued learning combined with her compassion and empathy as a mom make her an incredible resource for any mother struggling with breastfeeding.

I would know, I was not an easy case and did not find successful help before I came to see her. She worked with me to eliminate several different sources of extreme pain and my daughter’s latch issues.

Many of my friends who have had her support would say the same as well. I’m not exaggerating when I say that one of the first questions we ask any new mom who is struggling with breastfeeding is “Have you seen Brooke?” We are so grateful to have someone of her caliber here in Central Oregon.”
